Formation of the Cell

The institution has established a Women Empowerment Cell to promote awareness of women's rights, ensure the protection of female faculty and students, and create a safe and supportive campus environment. With the goal of educating women about their rights and responsibilities, the cell actively organizes and participates in seminars and workshops while addressing relevant issues and challenges. Additionally, it serves as a platform for women to share their experiences, express their perspectives on societal status, and propose strategies for personal and collective empowerment.


Objectives

  • To foster a culture of respect, empathy, and gender sensitivity
  • To raise awareness about Supreme Court guidelines on the prevention of sexual harassment.
  • To assist women in securing financial support by identifying relevant sources and cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset among young girls, empowering them to become employers rather than employees.
  • To educate women on the significance of good health and proper nutrition.
  • To inspire women and girls to practice self-defense and confidently speak out against all forms of discrimination.

Selection Procedures

Faculty members and students express their interest in serving as coordinators for the Women Empowerment Cell. Based on their preferences, the College Academic Committee, in consultation with the Head of the Department, selects the coordinators

Tenure

The tenure of the selected coordinator is for one academic year.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assist women in realizing their full potential in education, careers, and personal life through academic growth, intellectual development, and personal empowerment.
  • Work towards transforming societal attitudes and community practices through the active participation of both men and women.
  • Foster partnerships with civil society, particularly women’s organizations, to strengthen support systems.
  • Create and maintain a conducive and inclusive working environment for women.
  • Encourage and inspire women to pursue higher education, ensuring they maximize future opportunities.
  • Organize awareness programs and outreach camps for underprivileged women in society.
  • Provide individual and group counseling, along with educational guidance, to support women’s personal and academic growth.
  • Build self-confidence among female students through guest lectures, workshops, and mentorship programs.
